Returns, Refunds & Warranty

This page covers returns, cancellation, and warranty terms for physical products bought from Prayertimes.dev. Right now the only physical product we sell is the Prayertimes Clock, so the specifics below describe that — as we add other products, we'll extend this same policy to cover them too. It's a plain-English summary alongside your UK statutory rights, not a replacement for them.

Before it ships: cancel any time, full refund

A pre-order is a single upfront payment against a unit that hasn't been built yet. Right up until your clock ships, you can change your mind for any reason — email support@prayertimes.dev with your order number and we'll cancel the order and refund the full amount you paid, no questions asked. You can check whether your order has shipped yet on the order tracking page.

Your 14-day cooling-off right after delivery

As a UK consumer buying online, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving it, without needing to give a reason. You then have a further 14 days to send the clock back. Once we've received it back and checked it hasn't been damaged beyond what's reasonable for inspecting it, we'll refund the full price you paid, including standard delivery. This right applies on top of, not instead of, the cancel-before-it-ships option above.

If you cancel under this cooling-off right, you're responsible for the cost of returning the clock to us, and for taking reasonable care of it while it's in your hands.

12-month warranty

Every Prayertimes Clock is covered by a 12-month warranty from the date it's delivered to you, against manufacturing defects and materials that fail under normal use — the e-ink display, the WiFi module, buttons, casing, and the internal battery.

What we'll do

If your clock develops a genuine fault within the warranty period through no fault of your own, we'll repair it or replace it with an equivalent unit, free of charge, including return postage both ways. If we can't repair or replace it within a reasonable time, we'll refund you instead.

Battery life isn't a fault

The clock is built to run for months on a single charge, but like any rechargeable device its battery will hold less charge over time — that gradual capacity loss is normal wear, not a defect, and isn't covered once it's within the range you'd reasonably expect for a battery of this type over the warranty period.

If it arrives faulty or damaged

Beyond the warranty above, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you a short-term right to reject goods that are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose: within 30 days of delivery you can ask for a full refund instead of a repair or replacement. After 30 days (and for the rest of the warranty period), we'll normally offer a repair or replacement first; if that doesn't fix it, or isn't possible within a reasonable time, you're entitled to a refund or price reduction.

If the clock arrives damaged in transit, let us know as soon as you can — ideally with a photo — so we can sort a replacement quickly.

How to start a return, cancellation, or warranty claim

  1. Find your order number

It's on your confirmation email (format PTC-XXXXXX), or look it up on the order tracking page using the email address you checked out with.

  2. Email support@prayertimes.dev

Tell us your order number and what's going on — cancelling before shipment, the 14-day cooling-off right, a fault, or damage in transit.

  3. We'll confirm next steps

We'll reply with a returns address if you need to send the clock back, or confirm the refund directly if nothing needs to be returned.

How refunds are paid

Checkout runs through Stripe, and refunds go back the same way — to the card or payment method you used, for the amount you actually paid (so the discounted price if the £135 first-10 rate applied to your order, not the full £150 price). Once we've approved a refund it's typically visible on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider. We'll update your order status and email you when a refund has been issued.

What the warranty doesn't cover

  • Accidental damage — drops, liquid, or a cracked screen from mishandling
  • Normal battery capacity loss over time (see the warranty section above)
  • Damage from opening the case, unauthorised repairs, or third-party modifications
  • Cosmetic wear from normal use, once outside the 30-day faulty-goods window above
  • Faults caused by connecting the clock to an unsupported power source

If delivery runs late

This first batch is expected to ship by end of September 2026. Pre-orders are built to order in a limited first run, so timelines can shift — if that happens we'll email everyone with an order affected. If your clock hasn't shipped by the date we've given you and you'd rather not wait, you're entitled to cancel and get a full refund at any point before it ships — the same as cancelling for any other reason, see the first section above.
