Setup guide

How to power on, connect, and pair your Prayer Display — and what to do if something isn't working.

Setting it up

    Power on the display

    Plug it in or make sure it's charged. On first boot — or after a factory reset — it broadcasts its own Wi-Fi network for setup.

    Scan the QR code

    Use your phone's camera app to scan the QR code shown on the display. This joins your phone to the display's setup network.

    Choose your home Wi-Fi

    On the setup page that opens, pick your home Wi-Fi network. It must be 2.4 GHz — the display doesn't support 5 GHz networks.

    Enter the pairing code

    Once connected, the display shows a 6-character pairing code (using the characters 23456789ABCDEFGHJKMNPQRSTUVWXYZ). Enter it in the app or at app.prayertimes.dev under Settings → Prayer Display to link it to your city and masjid.

What to expect

  • Prayer times refresh once a day automatically.
  • Battery lasts up to 10 months on a single charge.
  • Middle switches between the detailed and large-timetable layouts, Right shows tomorrow's times.
  • First-batch units are shipping end of September 2026.

Troubleshooting

My display won't show a Wi-Fi network to join.

Hold Middle or Left+Right on the display to reopen Wi-Fi setup — this also works any time you want to switch networks.

It's not connecting to my Wi-Fi.

Double check your network is 2.4 GHz — the display can't join 5 GHz-only networks. Some routers broadcast both under the same name, so you may need to temporarily rename the 2.4 GHz band.

My pairing code expired before I entered it.

Hold Middle or Left+Right to reopen Wi-Fi setup and reconnect — the display will show a fresh code.

The times look out of date after I changed city or masjid.

The display refreshes once a day. To update it immediately, press Left on the device, or open Settings → Prayer Display in the app and tap Sync.
